How it works.
Join
You need to become a member to borrow our tools and equipment – but if you’re looking for a one-off rental our month long membership would be a great option! We have all sorts of tools and things – from DIY tools to sewing machines, ice-cream makers and camping equipment! With a membership most tools are free, some have a small charge. You can borrow up to ten tools at a time, generally for 7 days but some high demand items are only loaned for 4 days.

Browse and Reserve
Once you are a member you can browse through our inventory and reserve tools online. You can also request new tools for the library if you think there are some that would be useful for the community. Tools can be reserved for pick up during our open hours – which are currently on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday,
Collect
Collect your tools from our library in Newton, Auckland City at your designated collection date/time.
Return
Return your tools to the library on the day they are due, during our open hours.
You’ll need to return all tools clean and ready for the next person. ALoT is a volunteer run organisation and depends on everyone doing their bit! All batteries should be returned fully charged.
